Sail-Trip to Szigliget accompanied by wine-tasting
A whole day trip to Szigliget
Spend an unforgettable day with us on Lake Balaton
10 a.m.: Departure from Keszthely Harbour
Not long after setting sail you will enjoy the picturesque view of the western hills of Balaton. It is well worth to take a look at St. Michael Hill on the left, with the Chapel of 40 Fishermen on top. On the right Somogy’s gentle slopes, soon after you’ll see the Cape of Balatongyörök and then unfolds the full beauty of the Szigliget Bay, surrounded by the magnificent Volcanic chain of mountains.
12 a.m.: Arriving to Szigliget, the place that deservedly earned its title “The Pearl of Balaton”. After arrival guests will be offered a special Hungarian home made style lunch.
13 p.m.: We take the bus to the 230 years old cellars of the Eszterházy Counts at the foot of the Castle, where you will get a taste of the famous welcoming of the locals.
You’ll be offered home made spirits, than a wine-tasting takes place lining up 6 of the local produces. In between the wines you can have some Hungarian Scones and Canapés to keep your tasting sense fresh for the next delicacy. If you want to take some of the great feelings home for sharing it later with others, you can buy the tasted wines as well as other quality ones in bottles.
Those who chose not to participate in wine-tasting can pay a visit to the Castle Ruins of Szigliget, where reconstructions are well advanced. From the Castle you will see a beautiful panorama opening to the Basin of Tapolca. (Badacsony Hill)
16 p.m. The time everyone is pleasurably tired we set sail back to the Keszthely Harbour.
